Since moving out in my own I’ve had two apartments with Rey and I’ve decorated them both. Obviously we started with basically nothing and turned it into a home more or less over time. Also since I started this list some things have been acquired, which is exciting but also shortens today’s post. Anyways here are the things I’ve acquired thus far.

We’ve lived in two apartments WITHOUT coasters. Our coffee table is a mess as it is and the cup stains do not help it. When I subscribed to Vogue magazine I got four fashion images on acrylic coasters!! They’re a lovely addition to the room, my collection and they protect the table. As mentioned out coffee table is a mess, it’s a pinewood and a former playroom table. In its place I’d like to find a cheap version of this table for our apartment. That way all of my magazines can sit safely under the main part of the table until brought out. Speaking of subscriptions, when I first joined the list for the New Yorker they sent me this super chic tote.

Moving to the desk, our stapler could use a change to match my rose gold tape dispenser. Our current one is transparent red plastic with stickers from Rey’s childhood on it. We can always use more expo markers for our white board.

Just before the living room I want a circle print rug that covers most of the middle room. In the bathroom I want all new and uniform bathroom tools and a new trash can with a lid and can liner. Into the living room, I want to take down all the wall art and get new tropical ones. I love the look of beachy, nautical photos and I think it would brighten up the room. We just put our color block rug into the living room and it added so much dimension and warmth to the room. I got a fluffy shag rug from Ross for $25 compared to the color block rugs $70 price tag. Our current shoe drawer is also pinewood and very unstable. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what white/minimalist one drawers are available that will fit our shoes.

My ultimate goal for next lease/ releasing this unit, is to get an actual couch or a foldable futon!! Rey and Is old twin bed (yes we shared that for 2 years) is currently our “couch” in the living room. Having the bed out there has been massively helpful for people staying over for whatever reason. Speaking of beds, our full bed needs a new Sleep Innovations topper stat, both of our backs are broken from sleeping.

Our bedroom needs more shelves, either corner shelves or a bookshelf. I’ve thought about investing in either a 2 cube or a 6 cube to put at the foot of the bed. Currently our 4 cube cannot hold our current TV, all of our crap and Roman’s tank. The only solution is to extend the surface area, especially if we’re getting a wider TV. When we moved into “The Casino” aka apartment #1, we inherited a Japanese style lamp from Rey’s Mom. It provides just the right amount of light for us at night before bed, but the lamp itself takes up a quarter of the desk. I’d love to get a new lamp that doesn’t take up as much space, and ideally has outlets on it. Our desks middle support is broken so we’re due for a new desk hopefully for two people. I just got Turbo a new grey geometrical spotted hide bed combo from Ross. It’s Sherpa lined inside and when it’s folded down to be a bed it’s also Sherpa lines!! I’d love a replica of the small cat tree we got for Turbo as a kitten but in grey. We used to stuff a grey bed into the top part of the tree so baby Turbo could fit comfortably. Since then he’s grown considerably and fits in the top bed on his own. Also in our room our closet need to be revamped and needs bins to reorganize the rack system.

In the kitchen we need a new drying rack, and S rack in particular because of how it drains dishes. We also must invest in a new drying mat because our roommates one stinks like mildew. Also none of our eating or cooking utensils are organized. I want a vertical knife holder to save space! They make ones that also sharpening my phone and inserted and pulled out. Our cabinets are on their way to being organized, but our pots and pans need help.

Finally our spare tanks take up way too much space in our unit so I’d like those sold!!
