There are a few recurring questions I seem to come across, or think people wonder about and I thought I would include them for you all.

How old are you? Where are you from and where are you based? What else should we know about you?

I am 28 years old, a Virgo and specifically a ’98 baby. I am from Los Angeles originally and then moved up to the Bay Area to really kick off the blog and life on my own. As of late 2026, I am now living life with my commercial pilot in training boyfriend, Brannon, and my cat Turbo in Washington!! I am a True Neutral, a Tiger (1998), I use she/her pronouns, I am inherently submissive, I am an INFP-T- meaning I am a Mediator and I’m a handful.

What is your current riding situation?

After leasing Capone, I was able to start riding Kisses, and then I pretty much left California altogether. I was very lucky to work with and love on Cayenne the son of Cheyenne, one of the mares I grew up riding out there in Arizona. He has been sich a delight to bring back into work, to explore the desert with, and to build a relationship with.

February of 2025 I bought a 2014 OTTB gelding named “Follow the Signs”, I had him shipped from his track home in Ohio to Washington, and after a year and some time of owning him, letting him down, and then finding him a trainer I can happily say I have ridden my own horse.

How many animals do you have? How many different species?

I currently have Turbo, my 8 year old cat. I have a crested gecko, hatch date unknown named Cosmopolitan (Cosmo), and my 12 year old horse Polaris (Po).

What camera do you use?

I have a Canon Powershot GLPH150, my 2020 IPhone SE, some photos are from my old IPhone SE. These days in 2026, I use my Iphone 15 Pro daily.

How does the tag system work? 

The tag system is different depending on the platform you’re using. For Instagram I usually place a “G2B” before the horse, competition or location for photos. Polaris is #G2BPolaris, Cayenne is #G2BCayenne, Billie is #G2BBillie, old work vibes are all under #G2BGGP or #G2BChaparral, Capone and all his memories are under #G2BCapone, my photos from working at Webb are usually under #G2BWRHerd, basic posts get a #Grey2Bay and so on. Top Spot’s posts can sometimes be found under #MontenegrosTopSpot since his name was pretty unique. Otherwise, the name/place/competition itself usually is your best bet, I also tag the year here on G2B to narrow your search too.

What does Grey2Bay mean?

G2B was started because I took random horse show photos and it was an absolute dream of mine as a kid with a new camera. Because it was such a dream I called my page “arethestarsstillshingg” and it was based on Tumblr to start before I discovered other blogging sites. I ran a poll to change my username and someone recommended Grey2Bay. It covered all the horse colors I featured from my photos back in 2013, and later started to cover other things with some imagination. I say that Los Angeles is kind of a concrete jungle like New York, and heavily associate both cities with the color grey for that reason. Funny enough, I moved up to the Bay area so Grey2Bay fits my life as well as horses. It covers every aspect of my life and feels very me, I am so happy someone dropped that option all those years ago.

What does your quote, “Just going through life one experience at a time.” mean?  

Like the meaning of G2B, I wanted something as a slogan/motto/ whatever you want to call it that covered every aspect of my life so there were unlimited topics to cover in my posts. I will talk heavily about equine things, recent life events, old memories, first experiences, food and recipes from home, and I touch on some touchier subjects here & there in an effort to make conversation more comfortable surrounding said topics. It’s also a sort of reminder to enjoy the moment, relive it in writing if needed and to slow down from the speed of life. I hope you enjoy every moment like I’m trying to do here.
