In honor of Fall arriving here’s a change of another kind. Roman was hatched on November 4, 2018 and has eaten live mice and rats ever since. When I first got him in December I tried to switch him over to frozen thawed, but he didn’t strike at it or even show interest. Recently, the Southern Bay Area has been without rats because of a single supplier who is “unreliable with their shipments” so I have no choice, but to offer frozen/thawed (f/t) rat pups.
Yesterday after a quick prayer that it worked I thawed out a rat pup in warm water, went and grabbed somethings for my 21st birthday and then came back. I grabbed the pup by the tail shimmied it around and he struck at it in no time. I was so pleased with his death roll that I ran around my apartment chanting. Roman gave me one of the best birthday gifts I got, switching to frozen thawed instead of live rats. Now i just can’t wait until he’s full grown!!
