Life Update || 2018

These passed few months have kind of been the same thing on repeat, which has been nice to have a routine, but otherwise it’s very boring. I’d say it’s been that way since we got our new car, a Prius. This car has been one of the greatest things for us lately, Rey uses it religiously for soccer and it fits pretty much anywhere you put it. I’ve gotten used to driving that one more than the Camry which currently resides outside on the street. Someone dented it while its been parked, but we’re just going to let it go since the cars 17 years old and about to retire.

Capone competed at Cow Palace with his owner and looked amazing, and then came home to stick his leg in a fence and get cut up. He still competed after that in a costume class, but jeez he really did that. I have a whole bag of goodies for him and his owner and I cant wait to set it all up for them!!

Rey and I finally got to go to Ramen Nagi (pictured above), but we had to drive out to Palo Alto to get it. This location was far better than our local ValleyFair location at managing the line and getting everyone out in a reasonable amount of time. The “King Ramen” was very good tonkotsu broth from the meat itself with a little kick of spice, the noodles were the perfect amount without overfilling you and stayed mostly the same consistency throughout, and the egg was the best yolky egg in the game. If I could take the price (980¥) and soup of the tonkotsu at Ichiran in Japan, and add the Ramen Nagi egg and you could send me off to the afterworld in a food coma.

This October I really took time to handle Roman a lot, I feel like he and I have really bonded. I was so pleased when he took the frozen thawed rat for me on my 21rst birthday making the future of his feedings so much easier and less stressful for me. For the non-snake owner live prey can injure the snake during feeding if the snake doesn’t grab the head correctly at first strike, I’ve had a few close calls with Roman so I really needed him to switch to prevent any bites or serious scratches. I upgraded him to a 32qt tub with a huge hide for him to grow into (don’t worry its not as big as you think), a long foliage for him to play, shed and wiggle in, and his water bowl and hygrometer even though I’d usually rely on my temperature gun for proper measuring.

I also upgraded Top Spots bamboo basking branch with a $10 synthetic version, I love it and hope Aztec does too when it becomes his. 🙊 I got a ton of reposts and love on Instagram from all the companies who’s stickers have ended up on Metro’s tank. The Pony App, Horse Girl Co, Iguana’s Burritozilla, Buck Off Bullying and Shop Hunt Club all reacted to it positively. It’s nice to have them see their place in my home and to see them share that with their following is super fun. On a not so fun note, we had an unruly homeless man ripping our garbage up and dumping it everywhere outside the shop a few days ago. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t leave us alone so I had to have the non-emergency police line go and remove him. My coworker and I had to pick up trash on our hands and knees basically while her boyfriend held mace just to get closing finished. I heavily contemplated waiting in the store until the officers showed up and moved him, but my coworker convinced me to leave with her and her boyfriend. In hindsight I’m so happy I did because I was shaking all the way home.

This week or next, I will receive my Shane x Jeffree Star Conspiracy Palette and Shane Glossin’ aka The Gloss. I can’t wait to tell you how long it took for me to get it on launch day, why I chose them, how they wear and feel, and prices of it all!!

Until then keep up with me and all my various animals on Instagram @Grey2Bay 💋
