Quarantine 2020 has been the time for online shopping or just window shopping if you’re me. After spending 3/7 days at the barn last week my love of everything equine is rekindled and I’m excited to share some of the items I’ve been eyeing online for Capone or in general.

The first item I’ve been eyeing is actually two pieces. It’s the Kensington Fleece flymask without ears and the matching fly sheet in Palm Springs. Its no secret that I enjoy the western color scheme and prints mixed in with the clean English gear I mostly use, and this set fits perfectly into that. The balance of the red rust and the light teal is so pretty and compliments most coat colors. Priced at $29.85 and $165.85 respectively, these two will have your horse protected from the flies, ticks and the Sun. I’d love to get this for Capone, but he’s got a teal/turquoise set already.

I technically already own two of these RAMBO padded halters, one that’s exactly as pictured above in Whitney Stripe Cherry, and one in Black & White Trim. They are great everyday halters for grooming, supervised turnout, normal leading and loading, and just to look cute. Priced at $49.95, you get a great halter that will last you a while and remain comfortable for your horse. That being said, after owning the one pictured above for a year, I have noticed it’s faded really bad. My black one was used already so it’s faded to a muddy black brown color and sits at the bottom of my tack trunk for that reason. Besides the color fading pretty horribly after a year I have no other complaints about the halter. It’s also been featured on the blog before, here, here and here.
I have talked about grooming probably way too much on the blog, but I strongly believe that taking the best care of your things, animals included is the best way to show them love, care and help make them last longer. We all know a healthy coat comes from within from proper diet and care, but I do have a few items I’ve been eyeing to help amp up Capone’s shine. The first is this shedding flower curry comb, it’s been a holy grail of many many equestrian influencers and seems to do a great job moving the dirt, loose hair and such out from under the top coat. The shine I’ve seen on some ponies from this curry alone is so bright my future is jealous. Priced at $4, I say just add it to the bag without guilt because you always need another curry. Next, we all know that tall grass is perfect for photos and trailblazing, but it’s also home to my least favorite, ticks. I’m personally really good at getting ticks out of horses with just a hoof pick, but sometimes I’d like to know I really have my grip on it when it gets tricky. Smartpak has 2 different types of tick grabbers, but these would be my go to for my personal grooming tote.

Besides grooming, my other equine item obsession is halters and leads. I would probably die if I ever won a giveaway for one I’d be so happy. This rose gold black leather halter and lead set have been on my wishlist for at least 2 years. It’s so sophisticated and just screams me, but Capone might be slightly miffed he’s all decked out in pink halter wise. Priced at $58.95 this halter would definitely turn heads in any color horse/pony. The other halter I have my eyes on purely because of how interesting it looks is the Kavalkade Ivy Halter, which I inserted just above. It has the most eye catching noseband to cheek piece and looks great for grooming and being stylish, if I competed with Capone I would buy this right now to strut around the show grounds looking classy. Normally priced at $89.95, it’s currently on sale for $69.99 on Smartpak.

I’ve recently begun looking for my own bridle to use on Capone and found this lovely headstall, breast collar and split reins set for a steal of $99. Pairing this with an S Hackamore with a fleece/sheepskin nose piece is going to be the set up for Capone. My only concern is I hope the beading on the breast collar doesn’t rub Capone’s shoulders. When I finally decide to bite the bullet and get a set, maybe they will have a different color scheme.

After buying my first charm from My Charmed Horse and kindly being added to the #MCHLovely ambassador team, I was hooked!! I chose this beautiful western inspired turquoise charm, and with my first purchase they added an “S” charm for Sara. Every purchase comes with a sticker, a handwritten note, business card and maybe a bigger postcard sized print. Well a few days ago I couldn’t resist and I bought myself a new charm pictured above. I had my eye on it previously and it was the last one until restock. Something about the simple beauty and sparkle in the star just made me have to have it. Priced at $8 it’s a steal because it’s so cute!! And one day I’m going to grab this charm to go with an epic royal blue crystal browband, it’s going to be insanely beautiful.
These are just some of the horse items I’ve been eyeing like crazy. If you snag one of these pieces please tag me in it, I’d love to live vicariously through you and enjoy the product with you. Stay safe!!
