Little Red || 2020

When Apple dropped the release date for the second generation IPhone SE, I knew it was going to be mine at some point in time. I already had my dream phone, the rose gold SE with a white front, ugh that phone is so stunning and perfect. 3 years ago it also ran perfectly, was the ideal size and of course was one of the few rose gold options on the market. I was lucky enough to be gifted my phone so I didn’t have to buy it, but it would’ve been a pretty penny on my own back in 2017 even for being 2 years old at that point. When I got it Rey’s family and I went to Cancun and I actually ended up losing it for about 4 hours in the hotel room. I frantically tore the whole room apart even in places it absolutely wouldn’t be for the entire four hours. I found it inside the duvet cover in the most unbelievable, how did you even get there spot. Needless to say I will always make sure my own duvet cover openings are at the foot of the bed not the top for the rest of my life.

Flash forward to today nearly three years later, the phone that was completely perfect is now one of my main sources of frustration and anger. There’s white dots that come up on dark black screens, especially in dark mode. The right top corner of my screen clicks and pops from being dropped on a mounting block from horseback so Capone didn’t trample it should it have fallen out of my butt pocket while riding. And honestly, with Grey2Bay and my own personal photo desires, the camera just wasn’t cutting it anymore. When I heard that the new SE was affordable, had portrait mode and a newer faster chip, I was subconsciously sold then and there. Come to find out they made a red version, I started needing it. Suddenly my phone could do no right, the rose gold was suddenly too young for me (I’m a liar look at my last post) and all I needed to do was to let my Dad know his TMobile bill would indicate a change in phone for my line.

After doing that, it was just a waiting game until my 128GB red IPhone SE arrived. Unfortunately, no one could’ve foreseen that riots and protests would erupt across all 50 states of America demanding justice for black lives and all lives taken by police brutality nationwide. The waiting game for my phone seemed endless as looters and justly angry protesters smashed into shipping warehouses, delivery trucks and more in my area. When the knock came at my door and my familiar UPS guy handed me my box I was relieved and shocked it wasn’t in someone else’s hands. Pictured below is my box the moment I ripped it from it’s protective shipping container.

After shelling out a good $500 from my stimulus check and tax refund I just needed a case to go with it. I have been scouring the Internet up and down for a case that makes my heart and soul as happy as the vivid red of my phone, but haven’t come across one yet. Knowing myself, my horse and being life’s chew toy I know I needed a case immediately, I will drop this phone I know it and that’s why I need the case. Reys family had also just got new phones (secretly another reason to buy the phone) and his Mom did not like her blue and pink case she got for free with a BOGO deal so she gave it to me to use. It matches my Fabletics Trinity leggings in Orchid Smoke perfectly and the blue makes the red phone pop out where it shows through the case.

I’m so thrilled with my purchase, it arrived on time despite everything falling apart in the world and it works beautifully. I can message my team at work, write blogs, take photos and videos and text just fine too.
