My very very first job was working for a Kroger Company (Ralphs), I was a courtesy clerk and mostly spent my time collecting carts and bagging groceries for the cashiers. I like to think I was pretty good at it, but I was mostly just happy to be working and earning an income for the first time so it wasn’t that taxing. I took a break from work life when I got to San Jose State and like all breaks it ended and I had to rejoin the work force. My first pick was something with animals and what better way to work with animals than to walk, sit and care for dogs and other animals for people in the Bay Area. Rover.com was the go to for me.
I was able to pick my radius, my rate of pay for each offered service and my availability was so flexible it was insane. Looking back I wish I could’ve been a bit more training oriented to help with some of the dogs, but it was mostly an enjoyable experience every time. My only complaint was usually the owners, but I turned out to be as crazy about my animals as they seemed to me.
I have a whole bunch of dog photos from my time working for Rover and I thought I would do a series of posts on each dog, their personality, what we did and how much I enjoyed working with them. I sort of miss it so I thought this would be a good way to relive some good times.
