Meet Turbo || 2021

8 week old Turbo in Berkeley

Turbo is my 2 year old bicolor American domestic shorthair. He’s been claimed by us since day one (June 22, 2018), and I picked him out of the 5 cat litter the day after he was born. Coco (Sena’s childhood cat) loved to adventure outside while Gorota liked to hang out on the deck in Berkeley. She ended up making friends with a grey neighborhood cat, not Bruce. Unfortunately, this led to her getting pregnant and having a few litters of kittens over about a year. Sena & Tani kept Nino and Sofie from Turbo’s litter and they rehomed the other two. Gorota unfortunately passed on January 1 2020, but his life lessons stayed with Turbo. Gorota and Turbo were cuddle buddies, and close friends since Turbo was more shy than the other kitties. He often hid with Gorota and learned how to accept humans through that.

We got him a normal litter bin, but I decided to buy a booda to match the one I had for Ash growing up. It has a few steps for the cat to use to prevent tracking, and I paired it with a mat that helps prevent litter tracking. They don’t always work together so we do have litter in odd places around the studio, but it usually does a decent job.

He’s got 2 large cat trees and a small one, all together I affectionately call it the ‘cat kingdom’. It’s Turbo’s play and rest area and he certainly rules this house so it’s fitting. We still have a whole Cavali Club box full of toys and cat stuff, he is the most spoiled feline there is. We do have to replace his favorite ball toy and get this one, but it still works fine. Turbo decided it didn’t need the scratcher part covering the top part and ripped it out.

Baby Turbo and Sofie

We microchipped Turbo as soon as he got his first round of vaccines, and as of November 10, 2020, he’s been neutered. I love Turbo with all of my heart and soul, but breeding him to continue his memory just wasn’t in the cards. He’s since mellowed out, aside from his new shenanigans like jumping on the stove, playing in the bathroom sink and falling in the toilet.

He’s the light of my life, and I am forever grateful for his presence in my home.
