This year has changed me from a budget friendly girl living on her own to a girl who snags the first deal on luxury items. I am obviously still taking my financial needs into account, but still I have been jumping on things I’d usually have to pass up. My recent post about my new saddle is a clue about that, but I got a couple more things headed my way at home and some things in the pre purchase category.

I decided a long time ago that if I ever got a saddle I would be insane about its care, storage and what not. I got just the saddle from Kait directly, no stirrup irons or leathers just the seat itself. I gave it a good rub down with leather conditioner when it arrived and she was absolutely beautiful. I have ridden in it twice and it goes everywhere in my car. Obviously I had to find some leathers and irons to ride in it, so I found some leathers that could use some extra life in them and a pair of Japanese irons which are unfortunately rusted, but they work just fine. I knew in the long run I would need new replacements that would last me a lifetime, like my saddle. Until that point in time, I bought stirrup covers to save my saddle from the scuffs its currently accumulating from rolling my stirrups up post ride and from bouncing around in the car. They needed to be very me, very cute and still fun enough to add to my smiles out at the barn. I saw these on Etsy and grabbed them immediately.

Following that special find, I got into my DnD dragon & dice obsessed mood and found the BEST tail bag ever for Capone & Kona. While I prefer the functionality of the Velcro top tailbag, but I tend to gravitate towards the Lycra ones with a tie at the top. My go to ones from Horse Guard are Lycra, in red and black and they do wonders for conditioning Capone’s tail, and growing it out. When I found this one for $15 I had to have it to pair with my new stirrup covers. It makes my heart go pitter patter, and gives me all the fantasy vibes a girl could need.

Both Pony and Nightmare (Kona) should look fabulous in my new stuff, I can’t wait to see them in it.
