Now that I own a bridle, a saddle, a whole bunch of leather boots, I need to have a good amount of leather care products on hand.
I started with TLC lavender saddle soap and conditioner. It was goat milk based and it was honestly fantastic until the end when it went bad and clumpy. The residue it left on some of my stuff was unpleasant and led to more cleaning on my end. From that, I moved on to Sterling Essentials lavender from my Cavali Club Fall box one year. Since some time has passed and I’m basically out of that lavender goodness from Sterling Easentials, I moved on to Pecards Leather Dressing. It was included in the Cavali Club Summer box, and was really nice with the leather on my saddle.
Flash forward to today. One of my fellow Horse Twitter users has been tinkering with making a leather conditioner, and recently released it on Etsy for all of us to try. They were kind enough to drop Horse Twitter a code to use so it was ~$15 for the tin with shipping, and I think it’s priced just perfectly.
In each precious tin there’s 4oz of wonder. It consists of cocoa butter, beeswax, coconut oil, avocado oil, and sweet almond oil. This delightful mixture smells like the process of making cookie batter, and doesn’t take much to condition your items. If you end up with some on your hands beware that it does have almond oil in it which could be an allergen for some of you, but otherwise enjoy the smell and softness of your hands.
I’m so happy to have been one of the first people to get my hands on this as I had been waiting for it to drop as the formula was perfected. You can grab a tin of your own here, and I hope you love it as much as I do. If you need me I’ll be conditioning everything.
