Last years fall box had a useful array of seven items from home needs to horse grooming tools I hadn’t thought of before. Mary Campbell the artist and founder of Mare Goods is the designer behind this seasons box. I have it posted as the main photo of todays blog. It pairs a lovely orange horse with bright blood red horses over a burgundy background accented by foxes and hounds.

The first item worth mentioning is the Mare Goods greeting cards which have the same print as the box. There’s about 5 of them in the pack and they make me so happy when I go to send shipping notes to people. I’ve only used two so far, but I treasure the cute print so much I hardly want to send them out.

The second item in the box is these stunning salad tongs with bits on the handles. I don’t have a space of my own to use these just yet, but I wait excitedly for the day I can use them daily. These are also by Gable Home, the same company that made the stunning rose gold kettle in my last box breakdown. They are made from Acacia wood, measure at about 11 inches long and 2.5 wide and they’re eco friendly.

The third item I want to shoutout from this box are these Kelcie’s Horse Treats in pumpkin spice. Billie at our San Francisco location absolutely loved these crumbly treats and would lick my hands forever just to get the flavor clean off my skin. They are made out of wheat flour, rice bran, beet pulp, soy bean meal, pumpkin, coconut meal, linseed meal, dried cane molasses, kelp, soy bean oil, turmeric spice, banana, salt and anise spice. They are low in sugar, good for the picky ponies and bite sized.

The next item are these AnatomEq breathable polos. I really wanted to use them on Skye or Gabby in our program, but the idea of losing these to the program is just too strong. However, I know I don’t use polos currently so the loss probably wouldn’t be too great until I buy a horse that needs them. These are meant to deter dirt and hair, be breathable, used by themselves or with liners, and provide structure for a working leg. I can’t say whether or not they’re worth it to buy by themselves, but I’m happy to have a set.

Carly included a copy of Sarah Maslin Nir’s Horse Crazy. I again haven’t had the brain cells to even crack the spine on this novel, but she looks great on my bookshelf next to all my other books. I have heard some great things about it, I just need to make time to read at some point. Maybe the lake will be the lucky time to read her.

This was a happy addition to my box alongside the brochure outlining what was in the box. It’s like an otter pop, but for horses!! You fill it with water, seal it and then freeze. I thought this was the most nifty thing since I used to freeze Gatorade for Caz back in the day during the summer. May that fluffy old man enjoy many frozen pops in horsey heaven.

And finally my favorite item of the box, these wipes!! Betty’s Best Skin & Coat Grooming Cloth Wipes are reusable grooming wipes. They’re like horse baby wipes, but washable. I have been stock piling many dirty wipes to be washed at a later date so I can make my own juice for them to soak in for their next grooming use.
Again I’m so sorry this breakdown was so delayed, I’m giving the airlines a run for their money clearly. Look out for the next one, we still have another box to go through if not two.
