Many moons ago back in 2018 I predicted a shirt by The Fit Equestrian. The young brand had already released a black edition and pink edition, so it only made sense that they released a light blue addition.

Immediately upon hearing the news I was set on buying one for myself since I called the color. It has been one of my top shirts for riding, training and instructing, and also gives any day to day outfit that horse girl touch. Priced at $35 without shipping this shirt is a must have for your closet. It has literally become a prized possession.
The only sort of negative thing I will mention is the basic cotton absorbs sweat like any other T-shirt so armpit stains are pretty visible if you tend to sweat a lot like me. For that reason, I’m actually in the market for a black edition. I would keep them both to swap out as needed for each ride and lesson, but I would much rather hide the sweat than show it off.
With that, I have been thinking about what pads, make up and other outfit pieces I would match with it.

I have previously paired my shirt with my dark tan/caramel or black Kerrits riding tights, jeans, or comfy loungewear. However, I had color on my side, I would try and stray from black on black, but my brown Kerrits tights would be a good match. I would probably opt for my grey TuffRider breeches and my grey/red Ariat belt ideally, which leads to a more neutral natural makeup look. I would pair the belts red with my lips red for a pop of color, but otherwise I would stick to the basics. I have the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Feels So Grand, and I believe that would match perfectly. Pictured below off the Fit Equestrian Instagram is the shirt I’m eyeing.

Having seen this photo next to another of my pads in my camera roll I have come to the conclusion that my Iced Coffee pad would make a good pair for the shirt. If paired with the grey Tuffriders then my Dark Sky set would be best, especially since I have my One K to match now. So without going any further in my pros and cons checklist, by this point I’m already sold on the shirt.
Seeing as there’s an exciting update to my life soon, I will be very happy to have a fresh shirt for a fresh start when the time comes. I can’t wait to show you guys how I pair everything once life settles.
