I am a huge plant mom. Not so big right now because I’m in the process of getting a move underway, but still, I need my space filled with plants to be happy.
I used to have a huge balcony garden in the studio. Turbo loved it. I loved it. And it was very fulfilling to have a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy in the warm months. After ending my lease and changing my life plans, a lot of those plants were given up. I took a few indoor plants with me and let one from outside start to do it’s own thing once I moved.
Since life started getting hard again, I went out for some retail therapy and promptly bought a new plant friend.

Dating B has brought my love of aviation to a new peak. I have been finding little ways here and there to incorporate it into my home decor, especially if we’ll be cohabitating soon. I found this cute little $12 plant at Target and had to take it home with me. It’s a perfect pairing of chic clean modern style and aviation.
It’s called a Dieffenbachia, “dumb cane” or “leopard lily”. It’s usually found in South America and parts of tropical Mexico. The plant loves humid damp soil, not soggy conditions. If they’re indoors away from light they can dry out a bit more, but otherwise they like a taste of water at all times from damp soil. Luckily, the plant is mostly cat safe, it might cause a reaction if eaten or bitten by Turbo, but is usually very mild with no reaction. I however cannot eat this plant or ingest in in anyway. Not that I was eager to, but it should be mentioned even touching the plant and putting your hands in your mouth could have negative side effects.
I can’t wait to see how it grows with time. It says it only needs to be repotted every 3 years or so. I’ll keep y’all posted especially when it’s situated in our home…not just in my temporary lovely accommodations.
