Since I can remember I have always had an obsession with going to New York City. There is something about the glamour, the Art Deco buildings and the people that inspired me and made me want to go. The feeling of walking through Manhattan is something else, it transports you to a whole new world with every step.

Lucky for me back in 2014, New York City was one of the three spots my parents and I would visit on a spring break trip. I was so excited to go, I can’t even tell you guys.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for 2015 was scheduled to be in New York and it felt like I was there just before it happened. While I was there as a mid teen I was quite overwhelmed, but I took it all in stride because I was just excited to be there. We spent three days exploring the city before taking the train back to Washington DC.

I was fortunate to see one of the filming locations for Americas Got Talent (a show I loved watching with Dad at the time), at Radio City Music Hall pictured above. I got to see a former contestant, Illuminate off Broadway with Dad, and stayed right in Times Square at the Double Tree. It was a dream, and I feel like a lot of this trip is blocked out for me because it was so fast and I was so awestruck.

That carries into my daily life and it’s the reason you’re reading this blog today. New York has been the background for so many blog photos, it’s been the inspiration for posts and plans and it’s been my go to, to ground myself when my perspective gets lost. I usually watch people walk through Manhattan to relax or do chores, don’t judge me, it’s soothing and cathartic to hear the city sounds.
