I have been obviously obsessed with tack from my various saddle pad posts, but what you guys haven’t seen much of is my western side!!

I have been searching for the perfect western bit to pair with a tack set I have my eye on, and the bit above stood out to me.

Crafted by North Country Tack in Minnesota, this 2″ Sweet Iron Port Bit with Floral Shanks is one of my front runners. It’s got a bit more correction action and a deeper port than I would like without a spoon shape, but the shanks are so pretty I could find a way to make it work.

If I didn’t already have a bridle set up in mind I would opt for their Floral slip ear headstall. It definitely has the antique look the name describes, but I have a different set and vibe planned for my tack set I think.
