Back in 2017 I had an opportunity come up and I got to go to Cancun, Mexico. I spent a wonderful week at an all inclusive resort right on the beach. While I was there we went snorkeling, rode a catamaran to Isla de Mujeres, saw Chichenitza and the rest of the Mayan ruins. We found the best spots to eat and drink, and made the most of our time. While I wouldn’t repeat my trip with the same people, I would go again.

I stayed at the Ocean Spa Hotel in two different rooms and I had the best time. It was one of my first experiences traveling internationally without my parents so I was very excited for my first “adult” trip on my own. I didn’t really plan for the vacation outfit wise, but I was working for Victoria’s Secret at the time so I felt the need to be cute, I just lacked the means.

Here I am above with my Beverly Hills Polo Club backpack, Old Navy sandals, Cotton On high waisted shorts and my Forever21 pink lace tank top. I paired that with my Ray Bans and my hotel wristband which gave me all access to things. While I looked cute and will treasure this look and my experiences in Cancun for a life time, I have new outfit ideas for when I go back.

I just tried on my new outfits for B and I thought I would share a new one in particular. I had been eyeing a brand for a while, but I had never had an opportunity to buy it.
Created and launched in February of 2018, Tropic of C is a beach based female form clothing and swim brand curated by Candice Swanepoel.
As you all know since 2011, I have been a major fan of Candice. From Victoria’s Secret, to haute couture, to her friendship with Behati Prinsloo and beyond. I love the way she views life, nature and women. For her to take her morals and make a brand with that as it’s core is really special and I can’t wait to continue to support the brands cause.

My new Tropic of C “Aria” top & New York skirt
Priced at $128 at retail on the site, I was actually able to buy a new cropped cardigan for $20 shipped. I feel like a #GirlBoss for being able to find such a nice piece of clothing for such a reasonable price. Big thank you to Jessica on Poshmark for selling me her top and for giving such great customer service.
When it arrived I was very set on getting a light colored bottom to go with it, I just didn’t know what I truly wanted. But on my half day at work I went ahead and stopped by the mall on my way home and I grabbed a white pleated schoolgirl skirt. It’s got a cute embroidered “New York” bit on it which gives me all the fashion week vibes even if it is just a silly Forever21 skirt.
I need to buy a strapless bra and rhinestone replacement bra straps to go with my top. I will be curling my hair and pinning it up super cute and hopefully pairing it with a fun pair of shoes for the occasion. I told B he better get used to me looking so cute because I was really stressed about it recently.
Should I get the opportunity to go to the tropics again my shirt from Candice will be included. Until then, enjoy my outfit when it comes out of my closet in Arizona. I am super excited to express myself through clothes after all this time finding myself in fashion and trends over time.
