Quarter Howrses || 2023

A minute ago we talked about Quarter horses and their history. If you guys missed that post please go ahead and take a moment and go read it. It’ll give you the much needed background on the breed and a decent understanding as to why they are relevant in real life, and in the game I am talking about today.

It is no secret that back in 2013 I started playing a game online to avoid studying for finals, and I became quickly addicted to it leaving me $60 deep in a game that only provides me with a good time and honestly nothing more. That being said, after 621 days of active gameplay, I wanted to break down certain parts of my game for you all.

I have talked about Yggdrasil the horse that grows every time a horse 25 years or older is sent to heaven. And I have discussed the horse that started it all, Whisper. If you’re struggling to find it the “Howrse” tag is slowly growing for all of your gameplay needs.

Today’s post is all about the Quarter Horses I have bred, own and have customized. While I may find some of the horses redundant, or skippable, know that they still contribute to my game and I appreciate them for that.

As of right now today (11/28/2022) I have one flaxen chestnut mare named Montana under my “branded” Quarter horses. I really mean she has my “affix” as the game calls it, but that’s what they mean too. Besides her though I own 15 other Quarters. I decided to call my breeding program the “Chaparral Quarter Horses” for obvious reasons. Billie, Maisy, Sparkle and all the horses at my old barn left a mark on me. I hope to carry what they taught me and with me forever. It seemed only fitting to honor them and make them in the game. If it were Sims I would do the same thing.

Superior & his goat

I had a dream about a horse at Gram’s house one summer during high school and it was so vivid I woke up and made it in my game. Some time before that I named a solid bay thoroughbred, Hanes, but I showed him under “Superior Hanes”, which meant “Superior” was open. So when a solid bay foundation Quarter horse came about, Superior was born. I customized him to have a splotchy coat and Pegasus wings, and all the lucky charm Black Market items. One of those special items is a goat!!

As a kid having a horse with a companion in the game was so rare. We had totally different objectives during the day to focus on small goals within the big game and at the time there were only 100 of them. Today there are 2 objectives per day, and they are always different. The rewards are either 10 or 20 passes, whereas old objectives gave us gifts like the goat. I was lucky enough to win the goat in a seasonal game and I gave it to a foundation horse I created.

Foundation horses are horses someone started their game with. They usually have a genetic potential (GP) of 350 points maximum which isn’t that helpful in todays gameplay. However, they are fully trained, have won competitions, and have an assortment of difficult to attain Black Market items that make them immortal and good to have.

Neptunic Rays & his Puercoespína

The next horse I have that is a part of the Quarter horse team is Neptunic Rays. They have a GP of 2116, and at 11 years old they have only won 3 competitions. They are a strawberry roan, and 15.3, with a Golden Apple coat. I happened to buy this coat, I didn’t customize him myself. I added a Puercoespína companion to him fairly recently. While those companions usually are paired with a Catrina Brooch, I won the companion in a challenge. He isn’t fully trained as you can see on the righthand side, but that’s on me for not taking care of that sooner. I have no rush to get him fully trained, I just feel bad that he was born in 2011 and isn’t trained to this day. I love the space theme of his customization, I hope they never retire this coat.

Down below I have another Quarter horse with a companion. I have named it Tortuga after its animal pet, a turtle. To make it look cute I gave it a Vintage Apple to give it the old version of the games base coat. I chose the Mustang black vintage coat even though he is a black Quarter horse. With that I found a really nice Pacific Northwest background theme for the two buddies, and called it a day. He is also untrained, and hasn’t even seen a competition. I gelded him the second I acquired him because he wasn’t purebred, and he has a maximum GP of 656. Unfortunately he isn’t worth running in my breeding program. If the game accepted appendixes or running quarters I would be on it in a heartbeat.

Tortuga & his Turtle

Enchantress was a more recent purchase, but still from a while back. They were born in 2016, shoutout to the Class of 2016!! To help replace Toruga’s role in the breeding program I grabbed this black Quarter horse mare. She is 15.3 hands, 985 pounds and sports a great Black Market item. She is a western trained mare, and she has earned 559 equus which are the games dollars. Passes are another form of currency is much like gold bars, rare and expensive to attain.

Enchantress

Enchantress is one of my 3 horses with a Witch Hat. This Black Market item gives each specific coat type an advantage in the game. Some will take on the characteristics of another items coats, one gives 5+ points extra in each skill, one hurts its competitors in a show and the other makes its feed free…like this sweet mare. She costs me nothing to feed which is helpful for me, but not the boarding facilities I register her with. Her coat is animated for fun, and gives her the witchy vibes ever girl tries to match on Halloween. If you can comment what part of her really moves you get bonus points.

I just wanted to show off a few of my special coats, Black Market items, and some of my Quarter horses. If you missed it the affix is here, for any game players feel free to add me as a friend and let me know you’re from the blog. Happy Howrsing!!
