I have mentioned them from time to time, but today we’re talking nails. Specifically the best press-on’s I have found thus far, imPRESS.

I tried them on a whim one night and I liked them, but I knew I was going to lose them at work. At the time I was throwing 8 bales of hay a day, leading many horses, teaching lessons all day, and managing a barn of other horses and animals. They lasted no time at all and I was quickly ripping them off in between lessons to make my hands look normal again. That being said, I have tried them again on multiple occasions, and have tested them for normal people-ing, and they work great.
My first set was in the shade, Frosting, a bright crisp white, and I grabbed mine on sale at CVS in San Jose back in May 2022. After some time I tried them again, and the same thing happened, I ended up wearing them doing intensive work stuff and they popped off left and right. I tried hopelessly with my old nail glue to stick them back on, with no luck. B and I went to the zoo, and each exhibit I was replacing glue and nails it felt like. That was my apple red Reddy Or Not set.
Luckily for me I grabbed that, and the rest of my current collection that day. I had no idea how handy they would be after I stopped wearing them to work, or ride. After that red set I was lucky enough to go with B’s Mom to get a real manicure. I enjoyed rocking a set of cream nails for the next few weeks. It wasn’t until my trip to Hawaii that I finally caved and used another set.
I mentioned it in passing in my Hawaii Dress post, but I grabbed my Baby Why So Blue nails and stuck them on something serious for my once in a lifetime trip. I trimmed them up per usual, and they lasted the whole trip until I ripped them off for traveling home. As I said they matched my dress, and they were a perfect addition to my other Hawaii looks as well as great for photos. It is no secret that my hands have seen better days with all my horsin’ around, but they made my hands look getaway ready.
After I made my way down to Arizona, I tried out my next pink set. It was the perfect babygirl pink, it was the pink of gender reveals and of everything girly. Aptly named, Pretty Pink, these nails lasted me just a little while before I was tearing them off due to stress. I have always relied on nail polish and fake nails to curb my nail ripping habit, but this time it got the better of me. The effort of a big move, the stress of finding a new job and general adjustment woes are no joke.
Then in December, I prepped myself for a follow up set in Mint To Be. Quite literally, the best mint there is in nail polish. It matches the color of mint chip ice cream, and was perfect for a white Christmas in Spokane. As usual they lasted me the trip like old reliable.
I let the new year start without nails, and I honestly waited until my Valentine’s Day show with Saddle Sore to put another set of nails on. I was hoping they would last as long as my imPRESS nails, but the Chillhouse Nails didn’t unfortunately. They had a stunning wavy pattern to them, but they just didn’t stick. In late February, beginning of March I reapplied a set of nails in the color, Beach Waves. They are a stunning teal color, and they remind me of a darker Tiffany Blue.
That means the only color I have left is Point Pink. They match my old Bloch pointe shoes perfectly, and I can’t wait to use them to live out my ballerina dreams.
I have many new nail goals, ideas, colors etc I am wanting to explore in 2023, so be ready for my nail update.
