Today we’re taking a time warp back to 2016 when I was an avid Aspyn Ovard follower on all forms of social media. She had just launched her online store with her mom, and like every 18 year olds dream, I wanted to have her clothing line in my closet. As time would have it, I never got the chance unfortunately. She decided to close her store earlier this year, so I totally missed out. That being said, I planned for this blog so there’s a few screen grabs of her site when it was active.

I’m nearly 25 now, and I realized somethings along the way. Learning about how online brands function really opened my eyes to how attainable a brand really is and it inspired me to always keep that door open if I wanted to explore that.
When Aspyn and her mom would go out to the warehouse sales and pickup the next seasons inventory for Luca + Grae, it was many of the same items I was buying in stores locally. Of course hers were packaged and rebranded to be Aspyn’s aesthetic, they were at heart the very same item.

A few months ago, like back in California, I found so many of these hair claw clip and I decided to call them my “Groovy Clips”. Funny to think they were on Aspyn’s online storefront as “Wavy Baby Claw Clips”. I bought my packs of 4 for about $5 a piece and they’re my go to even now for hair clips in my hair stuff basket.
These are an excellent go to when I get out of the shower and need a quick up-do. They are a stylish addition to any outfit, and I am leaning towards using them with a dress of some sort for a more casual hair option. I find myself using them to hold my hair up when I do skincare, brush my teeth or put my face on. In a pinch they get my post ride hair into the grocery store without people looking at me like I’m crazy because there’s hay in my rats nest. I have handful of blue, pink, green, black and nude colored clips to choose from at this point.

If you guys are looking for a quick hair solution, I highly recommend these clips. I obviously got these from my San Jose TJ Maxx location, but they’re available most places online. While I wish I could say go support a small family business, they’ve closed. That being said pick them up, tag me, and I’ll know you grabbed them because you saw this post. Until next time, thanks for reading!!
