There are few things as pretty to me as city lights at night, of course stars are up there (quite literally), but I hadn’t found something that held the same amount of sparkle both cityscapes and night stars display.

Back in April of 2021 Equestrian Stockholm released a stunning collection called Dark Sky. It was made with the Swedish night sky during the winter months in mind as it says on the website, and it absolutely reflects just that. Initially when I started wanting this set I had Kona at our San Francisco Chaparral location. This set would’ve been perfect on her sweet tricolor face. The pink from the rose gold would’ve been girly enough for her and classy enough to make her look fancy. Unfortunately for my matchy matchy plans Kona was sent off to training and hasn’t been back out to us just yet at any location.

However, back then near its first release a friend of mine and I had lengthy conversations on the color of this pad because it’s marketed as nearly black, however, it is actually dark grey or charcoal. The halter is one of the only pieces that has more black points than grey. There are 18 items in this lovey collection and I happen to own 3 of them. This was the first of their rose gold collections and it paved the way to me finding Monaco Blue.

Equestrian Stockholm has since rereleased been his lovely collection and I wanted to break it down for you guys. This pad is one of my favorites even after all the color discrepancies. It’s a lovely charcoal grey with rose gold piping and lots of life in it. It’s got the usual rose gold logo on the spine, and the velcro billet straps like usual. This wonderful pad is priced at €85 or $95. The bonnet is made to match it perfectly and I can’t wait to use it one day. The bonnet is priced at €49 or $55. I do however pull the halter set out here and there to stare at and put away since the rose gold hardware is meant to be preserved. It’ll belong to a mare of my own one day, or be used for shows/shipping until then. Despite being a look don’t touch item it was priced at €69 or $77.

For a couple weeks I scoured the matchy matchy groups and found all three including shipping was £262 or about $216. Now I know that’s pretty steep, but the halter was quite heavy to be shipping all the way from England so it was worth it, mind you I also bought my Parisian Blue halter from them too so it was extra heavy.

You can enjoy this lovely set in my tack box highlights on Instagram, or when I finally get a horse of my own and finally get to use it. When that time comes I will purchasing the fleece rug and exercise rug in both rose gold collections.

Until then I will be purchasing the Dark Sky headband, to add to my winter barn collection. This needed headband is priced at €29 or $33. I used to have a navy cable knit version from my Cavali Club fall 2019 box as an add on for the box being shipped late. Unfortunately, I lost it and I haven’t been able to locate it since. The closest I have found is this one on their website.
